Othelo

Reading Journal ( Othello Act 1, Scene 1-3)
The story, in motion picture 1 of act 1, starts off by a word between Iago and Roderigo on a street in Venice. Iago expresses his offense to Roderigo as to why he didnt become Othellos lieutenant, because he thinks that he is better qualified than Cassio who had already been elect as Othellos lieutenant. As a result, this drives Iago crazy and grasping of Cassio. Also, Iago feels inferior to Othello since Othello loves Desdemona, because Iago is white and Othello is black. So, he makes a plan to kink off the relationship between Othello and Desdemona by using Desdemonas father who is Brabantio. As we read act 1 facial expression 1, we can see how intense the personality of Iago really is. He is devoured by envy, hatred, ambition, and racial feelings. Also, he comes across as fallacious because he is a hypocrite, pretending to care: I am not what I am (Othello 1.1.65)
In word picture 2 of act 1, Brabantio goes to arrest Othello with Roderigo and the other attendants. However, he fails to do so, because the Duke calls upon Othello to plow the impending war coming their way - as the Turkish fleet is heading for Cyprus - at the meeting. Brabantio, Roderigo, Iago, and Othello go to the conference.

We can realize that Iago conveys specific messages which are not true about Othello, in order to prejudice Roderigo against him. On the other hand, he fills up Othellos ears about Roderigo as well, without any sense of scruples whatsoever. He tries to manipulate everyones feelings with his sly, willful lies.

In scene 3 of act 1, the duke and senators decide to send Othello to war against the Turkish fleets. After the duke makes the decision to send him, Brabantio promises the duke about how Desdemona was bewitched by Othello using trick and medicines. Countering Brabantios charges, not only does Othello tell the duke how much he really loves Desdemona, but she also comes fore to express her feelings for Othello as well....If you want to get a wide of the mark essay, order it on our website: Orderessay
