This past month I worked as a ditch member at Fright Planet â€" a local anesthetic hangouted house attraction. In this particular work surroundings the most prominent communication method used was face to face communication. Therefore, to be able to in effect communicate with each other while working as a scarer in the haunted house was a vital component in ensuring that this seasons haunt was successful. In this environment, at any given split second you never knew who was coming around the corner and any communication between actors had to be done face to face, in that specific moment and as quickly as possible. We had to be aware of when customers were come near during these brief instances of interaction, so communication had to be concise and effective.



It did not take long for the cast to develop another more than efficient language in crop to communicate with one another. Very quickly we adopted a universal brass of gestures and hand signals. For example, if a cast member needed to vindication him or herself to use the restroom, he or she would make meat contact with the actor closest to them and touch the tip of his or her nose.
