The novel the Scarlett Letter and the receive The Crucible have many similarities, including setting and piece of music. Although these two literature atomic number 18 very similar, they are also extremely different stories. Both stories have the same general theme; the tightness of the Puritan beau monde and how people committed of sins detract their consequences of what they did.
A common element with these stories is the setting. Both the Scarlett Letter and The Crucible take place in Massachusetts during the mid 1700s to the earlier 1800s. Many people were super religious during this time period. These stories are both based in a Puritan society, which has many beliefs and rules. The time period of these allow you to see the harshness of the society when dealing with sin. Sin was punishable by death, which incomplete character received, but they did face public humiliation.
The main impinge of both of these stories is another similarity, In the Scarlett Letter; Hester commits adultery by cheating on her husband, Chillingworth with the minister of the town, Dimmesdale. In The Crucible, Proctor commits adultery with Abigail and his guilt slowly eats him alive. With the guilt, crapper tries to forget Abigail and be committed to his wife, Elizabeth. Abigail tries to sabotage their relationship and takes revenge on Proctor by accusing his wife of witchcraft, because she doesnt get what she exigencys.
